Send Flowers View Memorial Folder Sign/View Registry Doug was born January 17, 1957, to Robert and Dorothy Kaiser. Doug made so many friends through his wrestling and softball years.
Doug attended K-12 in Sturgis and completed a semester at Huron College. Doug excelled in wrestling all through high school and continued coaching AAU wrestling for 20 years. He always had so many stories to tell, and everybody enjoyed listening to them.
Doug married his high school sweetheart, Linda, on November 12, 1976, at Grace Lutheran Church. He loved teaching young wrestlers, and his inspiration led many to victory. Doug's last place of employment was at Owen's Interstate, where he worked until his death.
Doug also enjoyed playing softball and spent many summers at the ball fields. Doug lost his very courageous battle to cancer on July 5, 2018.
In 1983, the three of them ventured back to South Dakota, leasing a place call the Ridge on HWY 34 going to Pierre.
When their lease ended, they moved back to Belle Fourche and founded Moms Drive Inn in Sturgis in 1986.
Dean is survived by his five children, Rosa Herman, Rapid City, Velva (Rod) Retzlaff, Newell, Sonja (John) Welke, Sturgis, Arnold Vetter, Rapid City, and Jacky (Bob) Good, Spotsylvania, VA; sister, Joyce (Walt) Ballard; brother-in-law, Ace (Karen) Inghram; sister-law, Cathy Inghram; and 17 grandchildren, Monica (Jayme) Mc Gee, Eric (Denise) Quenzer, Jenna (Colonta) White, Jon Nelson, Timmey (Ana) Johnston, James Johnston, Mirrisa Retzlaff, Alysia Retzlaff, Jennifer (Steve) Froning, Lori (Dennis) Hansen, Glenda Welke, Matthew Welke, Gary (Alicia) Vetter, Bryan Vetter, Nicole Dean, Matthew Shaw, and Jade (John) Ritchie.
Dean Arnold Vetter, 81, of Rapid City, died Saturday, July 7, 2018, at Rapid City Regional Hospital.
Doug was preceded in death by his father, Robert Kaiser; sister, Linda Kaiser; niece, Anna Kaiser Westberg; father-in-law, Melvin Jutting; sister-in-law, Nancy Eckhart; and nephews, Jason and Dustin Jutting. Teddy Ann grew up and went to school in Sturgis and Lead-Deadwood area before she met and married Ronnie Varns on October 14, 1972.
While living there, Elmie passed away and he returned to Sturgis.
As his health declined from diabetes, he moved to Rapid City to live with his eldest daughter, Rosa, but if he told the story, it was to take care of her!
