Grateful for having shared Ardis life are her brothers, Arthur Schlenker, Jr., Cheyenne, WY, and Arlan Schlenker, Huron, SD, sisters, Arlene Bain, Aberdeen, and Arla Weifenbach, Aurora, SD, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and several great-great nieces and nephews. Harley joined the Army and was trained as an aircraft mechanic at Wright Field.
Kerwin was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Owen and wife Darlene Winkler, Dr. Alvin Wahlert and parents-in-law Grover and Annabelle Mc Kee. Schlenker was born March 13, 1940 to Arthur and Paulina (Kirschenmann) Schlenker at Pierre, SD.

Harley even drew up the plans for a house and built it himself.
